Memories and Goals!

Last year I’ve had some pretty cool memories. One of them was getting a 100 on my writing paper! My teacher gave us an a assignment to write a three to four page Christmas story. Then she read us a Christmas story to get an idea. It was about two kids being mean to each other when it was close to Christmas. We had about one or two weeks, well one week passes and I started to get worried because, I had very few written. I kept on erasing over and over again! I erased so much that I erased a whole page! Finally the next day I was going to have to turn in the story! When I arrived at my house, I was stressed out, I wanted complete silence! A couple of hours has and nothing was coming in my head! Suddenly my brother comes in and says” I have an idea.” ” Really what is it”, ” I said I’m freaking out!” ” How about you write about two elves that don’t get to work until Santa gives them their big break!” Suddenly the whole story comes together, I had so many ideas that I couldn’t write fast enough! I felt a lot better about turning it in the next day, but I still felt pretty nervous about it though! I’m walking toward the front of the classroom and turned it in. A week later I got it back! I made a 100! Another memory was Christmas, I was so thankful to have a lot of gifts! But I still always kept in mind about the true meaning of Christmas Jesus’s birthday! I also have memories about math! At first I was really bad at math but then I started to practice and soon I started to get better! Mrs. Hollon had helped a lot like every time you didn’t get the problem she would go step by step with you until you got it! When finally was advanced I could scream! I have two goals to pass the Staar Test and to read as many books as I can! I want to stop eating so much junk food my plan is to do it with my dad because we both want to do that goal! One thing I want to learn more about the 1800’s because I love hearing about what people did back then! There is four books I want to read is The Long Winter, Little Town On The Prairie, These Happy Golden Years, and but not least The First Four Years . That’s my goals and memories!

The End!

Grace’s Favorite!

  • This year in my reading class we’ve been reading two exciting books A Paradise Called Texas, and Willow Creek Home.
  • In these two books the main characters are Mama, Papa, Mina, Tante Lisette, Peter, Daniel, Mister Allen. Mina, Mama, and Papa decided to go to Texas and leave Germany so they could have more land that they could ever have in their lives. When they leave on the wagon they say their goodbyes. They get on a boat called the Margaretha! They sail and sail for 3 months when they finally found land! They got drop off on that beach with people who have been there for about 3 years! The longer they stay there Mama gets sick so sick she dies! Mina and Papa was really sad! They buy a wagon an oxen with the Herr Kaufmenns and start heading to New Branfels where they had a little cabin. Tante Lisette met Mina became friends later Papa asked her to marry him. Soon Lisette had a baby named Peter. Mister Allen gives them a visit but he also has a gift for Mina… a horse! Mina starts riding her new horse named Tucan. She discovers that she has a crush on Daniel.  Soon they all get their horses and finally move to their promised land!       My favorite part is when Tante Lisette had her baby. Because babies are so cute and it was a big suprise.

The Biggest Best Snowman

Author : Margery Cuyler            book review                                                                                   number of pages 23

It was about a Big,Big,Big family, but Lizy was the only one that was small. They  didn’t let her do anything! Then she went to her friends and they asked ” can you teach us how to build a snowman”  then she said sorry I can’t I am to small! Then her friends gave her a pep talk and then they built the biggest, bestest snowman!

I like it because it teaches you that you can do anything if you set your mind to it! It is a great story because it’s really fun to read and it makes you want to build a snowman!!!

p.s.  this is a excellent book you should read it!!!

How To Conserve Water!!!!!

More people should start conserving water!  Water needs to be saved, or the water will disappear! When the water disappear so will we! You see we can’t  live without water, so here is my ideas to conserve water!

First you should tell your family about conserving water. You can also tell your family how to conserve water like turning off the faucet while brushing your teeth. Or you can tell them that if you  playing in the grass, water it! Next did you know that water can be saved in the kitchen! If you are waiting on hot water collect the cold water in a pitcher and use it for pets, plants, and people. Finally, you can save water by taking shorter showers. Did you know that a five min shower is better than a ten min showers. Also when your running the bath when you want hot water get a big bucket under the faucet, and collect the cold water then pour it in a pitcher  and later have a nice cold drink!

There is more ways to conserve water, so remember to always save water!
